“The creation of a national park is an expression of faith in the future. It is a pact between generations, a promise from the past to the future.”
National Park Advisory Board, July, 2001

The principal objectives that The Friends hope to accomplish at Green Spring are quite simple – exploration, education, and passive recreation. During the next several years, we plan to explore the HGS site’s treasures, share its many stories with students and other visitors, and enjoy walking around its 308 acres of woods and meadowlands. However, the site preparation, archaeological discovery, and historical interpretation efforts required to fulfill these objectives will be both costly and complex.
